From one fleet to other people’s fleets
JAC & RAC TRANS was founded in 2014 in Drobeta-Turnu Severin, in the south-west of Romania, as an international road transport company. That is still what we are. The fleet grew to 25 MAN trucks running the Western European corridor — Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France — carrying freight for beneficiaries we contract with directly.
Driver recruitment did not start as a business plan. It started because we had the same problem as every haulier in Europe: finding drivers we were willing to put in our own trucks was getting harder every year. So we built our own channels outside the EU, and our own way of assessing the people who came through them — because a licence and a CV were not telling us what we needed to know.
It worked. Other transport companies asked how we were still crewed. Now that is what we sell.
We think that origin is the most useful thing about us. We did not enter driver recruitment from staffing and learn about trucks afterwards. We came from the trucks, and we built the recruitment to solve a problem we had ourselves.
How we work
Assess people the way the job actually works
A driving licence proves someone passed a test. It does not tell you how they handle a schedule collapsing, or what their truck looks like after three months. We assess for the second thing, because that is what costs money.
Say no early
Sending a driver we have doubts about is a short-term placement fee and a long-term problem for everyone. If we are not confident, we say so before you have rearranged your planning around a name.
Deal with people directly
We work directly with beneficiaries in transport and directly with the companies we place drivers with. No intermediary layer, no diluted accountability. If something goes wrong you know exactly whose phone to pick up.

Certifications and insurance
ISO 14001 covers how we manage our environmental impact. GDP is the standard required to carry pharmaceutical freight. CMR is the carrier liability cover that protects the goods in our trailers.
